Have you ever found yourself facing a weapon? Do you know how to respond if you do?
Most weapon disarm courses teach you fancy moves which focuses on the weapon first, and the attacker second. In order to be effective, you must be aware of the actually person wielding the weapon.
Is he/she using the weapon in attack, is it merely being used as a warning, or is it simply a bluff? Deciphering the clues is the first step in understanding how to respond. If a knife is displayed at a distance, and you have the opportunity to merely escape, could that be the best defense?
What are the two main advantages any weapon gives your opponent? How do you counter those advantages? What extenuating circumstances might change your defense?
This course is not about learning fancy and difficult to master techniques which often don’t work in the real world. This course will teach you quick and effective solutions you can utilize regardless of your stress level, the amount of time you practice, and regardless of the weapon. You will learn when to engage, and when and how to disengage.
All training equipment will be provided. Participants should bring a notebook/pen, comfortable clothing, an open mind, and a willingness to try new techniques.
