Handgun – (see above) Ideal is Glock 17 or 19, XD-9, or M&P9
Shotgun – (see above) Ideal is Remington 870 with a side saddle shell holder
AR – any will work as long as it has either Iron, Holographic, or Red-Dot sights
A set of snap caps or rubber training rounds for your handgun and your rifle will be VERY helpful

The most effective system we have seen for carrying all items is the following:
A battle belt set-up (SOE, High Speed Gear, etc)
3 Pistol and 3 Rifle magazine pouches (something like 3 of the High Speed Gear Double Decker Tacos)
      Safariland ALS Holster
Small Med Kit, Tourniquet at a minimum, Tq with quickclot and Israeli ideal
