About This Course:

With the world becoming a more dangerous place, many people are considering getting a firearm for personal protection. For others, they simply want to get a firearm to exercise their Second Amendment rights. Regardless of the reason, knowing which firearm to purchase, what the differences are between types, and how to store and handle the firearm safety are all paramount. This course will introduce participants to the various types of handguns, rifles, shotguns, ammunition, and optics. You will leave knowing what the best is for your given purposes, and what models generally perform better than others. In addition, you will understand what type of ammunition to buy along with the various accessories you may want to include.

Safe handling and storage will be covered in detail, helping you make sure your firearm only discharges when you want it to and in the correct direction.

After the classroom portion students will go to the firing range and have the opportunity to shoot a variety of firearms in each category.

Multiple instructors will be on hand to insure each student is able to move at a pace there are comfortable.

This course is approximately 50% classroom and 50% live fire

Equipment Required:

  • All Firearms and Ammunition is provided
  • Eye and Ear protection should be brought if you have it, loaner equipment is available on a limited basis.

Prerequisites:

None

This course is open to ages 12+ as long as a parent attends. If you have younger children please ask us about our firearm safety for children course.

Please note….some GPS systems will utilize Franklin as the city versus Edinburgh.
