Course Description

This course is part 1 in the Navigation & Movement side of our SERE for the Civilian series. SERE stands for Survive, Evade, Resist, Escape and is a key training for many military personnel.Navigation & Movement Level 1 will focus on basic movement principles in a hostile environment. Why would a civilian want to learn about SERE? First, the principles learned has application in other aspects of life. The survival portions are beneficial if you are a camper, hiker, white water rafter, 4×4 explorer, etc. Even if you don’t get “lost in the woods”, understanding basic survival is a skill set many people can utilize around camp. For those who travel in potentially hostile countries, SERE skills may be a lifesaver. Americans have become a high value target, and the risk of kidnapping is very real.

As this is a foundational level course, you will not be actively hunted, you will not be captured, and you will not be interrogated. This course is a learning based course where you will gain skills necessary for the later skills application based courses.
