About This Course:

Have you ever considered what you would do in the event of a medical emergency when there isn’t EMS available, or perhaps the hospitals are either full or not taking patients (we have seen this nearly happen with COVID).  What would you do if you were in a remote area and medical support was severely delayed?  What if your family member’s life was totally up to the skills you have and the equipment you possess?  What should you do if all else fails and you now have a dead body to care for?  This 2 day course will help you learn the skills, understand the equipment, and then practice those skills.

This is far different than a “Wilderness EMR” type course.  This course will go deeply into the medical side of things not typically seen in a typical WFA type training.

Topics Covered:

  • How to handle the top ten causes of death in this country if there is no medicine available
  • What can you anticipate happening in a total grid down scenario
  • How many are expected to die in the scenario
  • How can you improvise resources from what is around you to treat medical conditions
  • What do you need to do BEFORE such a scenario exists
  • Scenarios on day 2 to reinforce didactic session on day 1

Equipment Required:

  • Pocket knife or other cutting tool
  • Thumb drive if you want to receive the slides
  • Paper
  • Writing instrument
  • If you have a medical kit you would like to learn about, please bring it (not required)

Pre-requisites:
