About This Course:

If you have a defensive shotgun, chances are you also have a handgun.  Being able to properly use the 2 platforms in concert with each other is a vital skill.  There are times when quickly switching to your handgun is an advantage, but you must be able to do so smoothly and efficiently.  This course will help teach you the basics of transitioning from shotgun to handgun and back.

Transitions due to ammunition

Transitions due to malfunctions

Transitions due to cover, barriers, or environment

Working reloads, malfunctions, and other issues in a dual platform

Equipment Required:

• Shotgun (pump or auto)
• Shotgun Sling
• Method to carry your shotgun shells
• 10 rounds 00 buckshot
• 25 rounds slug
• 50 rounds birdshot (shot size does not matter)
• Handgun (semi auto)
• 2 Handgun Magazines
• Holster (No SERPA)
• Method to carry your handgun magazines
• 120 rounds handgun ammunition

Prerequisites:

• Defensive Shotgun Level 1
• Defensive Handgun Level 1

If you have attended the equivalent of both courses at another facility you will be accepted.
